Amy Heap

Hi, my name is Amy and I am a British Show Jumping judge. Pre-Covid I was scheduled to travel to the UK to complete my BSJA level 1 training course. I am hoping to still complete this course as soon as travel restrictions are lifted. During Ballavartyn Showjumping competitions you will normally find me in the judges’ box.

My journey into the equestrian world began with when my daughter started riding at a local riding school. After a few years we took the plunge and brought a horse, Mistaken Identity (Misty or grot spot for short). Misty is a 15.3 Heniz 57 horse, a mixture of Welsh section D, TB and Appaloosa, who loves dressage, jumping and eating.

If you have any questions regarding Show Jumping or life at Ballavartyn just ask, I am happy to chat!

Colleen Miller

My name is Colleen Miller. I'm a level 2 course designer with a keen interest in showjumping myself, particularly British Showjumping. I have been riding since I was 3 yrs old and got my first pony at 6yrs old. I don't know life away from horses but when I'm not at the yard I am at work. I work as a Registered Veterinary Nurse and qualified 13yrs ago. I have 4 horses (I know I'm crazy!).

  • Gypsy Moth aka Christina who's 19yrs old WBx TB, I've had her since she was a 5yr old, I've competed her in Show jumping, dressage and XC locally. She's well known for her tight turns and craziness.
  • Bas II aka Milton is 13yrs old KWPN who is my main showjumper. He loves hacking and competing in grand arenas.
  • Vanda Billionaire aka Billy is a 13yr old KWPN, I compete him locally in Dressage and Show jumping, he loves cuddles and galloping 😂
  • Then finally the newest member, Dacharov II aka Donny, he's a 12 Yr old KWPN who loves his jumping and is coming along lovely.

I have been fortunate enough to qualify and compete at 2 of the most prestigious show centres in the UK, HOYS and Hickstead main arena (amongst many more) It's hard to say which I enjoyed more, both were childhood dreams of mine and I was placed in both competitions on Milton.
